Keep Vancouver Spectacular

On May 31st, 2009 Canadian Direct Insurance took part in keep Vancouver Spectacular.  49 volunteers (employees and family) took to the streets to clean up the area around where we work.  The volunteers picked up garbage from Helmcken Street to Hastings Street and from Beatty Street to Richards Street, a total of 28 blocks!!  The group was rewarded for all their hard work with a pizza lunch at Canadian Direct’s head office. 

The group also received recognition from the City of Vancouver.  Tom Timm, General Manger of Engineering Services for the City of Vancouver wrote a letter thanking Canadian Direct for their participation in Keep Vancouver Spectacular 2009.  A Certificate of Appreciation signed by the Mayor of Vancouver, Gregor Robertson was also given to Canadian Direct Insurance.

Needless to say the event was a huge success and Canadian Direct will look to increase the number of volunteers in 2010 as well as the size of the area that we will clean up.
